windy building

In 2002, Ned Kahn worked with the staff of Technorama, the major science center in Switzerland, and their architects, Durig and Rami, to create a facade for the building which is composed of thousands of aluminum panels that move in the air currents and reveal the complex patterns of turbulence in the wind. So lovely.

David LaChapelle documentary

Interesting short doc on David LaChapelle. My favorite quote has got to be "It's quite hard to look at a lot of them [the images]... and if there is one problem with his work, that's it."

I would say that's kind of a big problem, but hey... whatever. I also like the lady that is obsessed with her beautiful silver spray paint.

Jenny Holzer

I am always a fan when people make words really big and put them on things. I find that it is a very effective technique for making important seeming work, kind of like making a photograph all red or really really big. Of course, it helps if the text is resonant and/or smart in some way. Anyhow, I am really feeling Jenny Holzer' projection work right now. Check out her site for lots, lots more. Good stuff. It kind of reminds me of Barbara Kruger, but you know, not really annoying and lame. She bugs me, Old Krugie. I never understood what all the fuss was about her.
