Syoin Kajii

Syoin Kajii has made some beautiful images of the sea that are running in Foam magazine this month. Check out the site for a gallery of more images. Sometimes this kind of seascape work can be tiresome, but I really find these images to have a refreshing color palette and intensity. They also have a quiet quality that I would imagine is hard to achieve when photographing crashing waves. The flat gray sky is a nice touch.

dog couture

ok so i am not normally the biggest bruce webber fan out there for a variety of reasons, but i love the fact that he had the jackets above made for his dog friends and then photographed them for the Moncler Fall/Winter 09 campaign. more power to you on the dog front, bruce. it's also a nice break from shots of pantless dudes. i mean, these dogs aren't wearing pants either but it's a different story, i think.

space story

I am SO feeling these space inspired pieces by Danish designer Julie Eilenberger. Must get them.

actually good art!

Murmur Study from Christopher Baker on Vimeo.

Christopher Baker is an American artist whose work often reflects upon the complex relationship between society and technology. His most recent installation – in collaboration with Márton András Juhász and the Kitchen Budapest – consists of 20 thermal printers that are constantly working and pulling live data from the social networking and micro-blogging website, *Twitter.

I would totally put this in my house, I think it is 100% amazing and smart and funny and beautiful and sad.
