3. Some people are toxic avoid them.
4. Professionalism is not enough or the good is the enemy of the great.
5. Less is not necessarily more.
6. Style is not to be trusted.
7. How you live changes your brain.

towel time

this is from a towel by raf simons. it is good if your towels are smart. but not good if they are pretentious. a fine line.

please have a happy week, ok?

i found this image on ffffound.com today and thought Wow, this is a Happy Picture, I like it. I will post it to TGBR. then i noticed that there is a Finnish flag in the righthand corner and realized that it was taken in Senaatintori in Helsinki, and that did not make it less happy for me necessarily but it did give me pause about posting it. oh well, what a boring story because i posted it anyway, obviously. please have a happy week.

My friend Jake is a force to be reckoned with. He has amazing style, and is always immaculately dressed. I recently shot him for the autumn issue of Flux magazine. Grooming is by Andy Starkweather. Look for the 8 page editorial on newsstands in August.

Check out these horse shoes (haha, punny) by Iris Schieferstein. Apparently she does a lot of work with dead animals. Hurrah?

Nina Buesing

I went to undergrad at NYU TSOA with Nina Buesing and I really like her work. I like horses but usually horse photos are awful but these are not, these are great and interesting and weird. Yay Nina!

tommy boy

2 weeks ago michelle carimpong, andy starkweather and i drove down to a dune beach near coney island to shoot tommy cox @ red. as usual the menswear shoot zipped by in about 2.5 hours and it was easy breezy -- male models can just be, they don't have to worry about posing. shooting men can be refreshing but sometimes not as inspiring as shooting women, but this shoot was fun. it was especially fun to go to taco bell after the shoot and get some crappy bean burritos to recharge. mmm, taco bell.

metal and methadrine

last week regee, viktorija bowers and i shot isabella @ ONE using some amazing masks that Harri made for us out of our old tower computer that died. here is one of the images. recycling is A+.
