At first I could not decide if these new images by Yelena Yemchuk, via Calikartel, were offensive or not, and then I couldn't decide if I liked the flat lighting or not. In end end, I vote A-. I love the composition, and while I am not 100% on board with using geisha culture and actual geishas as background props, I do think the "non" lighting works in this sense to lend an overall feeling and mood, and I like where the story is trying to go. The overall editorial is not as creepy as Yelena generally gets, but it does have a slight eerie, timeless quality to it and the styling is AMAZING.
